Innovative functional art designer Sequoia
Pawan Madan is the founder of Green and Sienna.
Low-impact materials have distinguished his
collections of the last 18 years. Previous
lines successfully integrated iron, glass, slate,
pebbles, driftwood and even tree prunings with
elegance and optimal functionality.

The "butcher block" application is made
primarily of reclaimed Brazilian Peroba
Rosa wood. Our trading partners in Brazil
procure, scrub, wash and send the wood to our
factory in Malaysia.
There it is integrated into the functional
designs, mostly by hand, to preserve the
character from it's previous uses and
expose the beautiful tones of the inner wood.

The Espresso finish is on Mersawa veneer -
an African hardwood. The Espresso finish is
heat treated to better resist moisture staining.
Most of our MDF boards are Mersawa veneered
and finished on both sides, to make the
construction of these designs more stable in
varying weather conditions.

The care of the Peroba wood includes using a
furniture wax or oil. In Malaysia we had a
special non toxic Danish Wax Finish developed
for us with Natural Pine Oil, bees wax in it
to bring out the richness and the deep tones
of the Peroba wood.

Care of the Mersawa Veneer - wipe with a damp cloth.
